If you are a blogger, content writer, or you share your experiences, thoughts, etc. with the world with a blog(specifically, using blogger), then I swear that if you have a custom domain bought with services other than Google Domain, then you know why you are here.
Redirecting your naked domain, i.e, domain.com(for example) to the www version, www.domain.com is a very frustrating experience. Even though the blogger has a checkmark to set this functionality but even then it does not work. When looked thoroughly to the bunch of links below the 3rd party domain setup, we come to know that to redirect, we should add these A records to your domain DNS which point to these IPs:
But, personally, I didn’t feel that this too worked. At first, I applied these settings. As I knew, for now, it takes at max 24 hrs for DNS to update. But even after 2 days the same result.
But after all this, I am gonna explain the simplest way out there I get to use when I had started my blogging career to have your naked domain redirected to the www version of the domain.
This is the easiest way to have this figured out. Now, here’s the solution to it.
Go to your DNS management of the registrar where you registered your domain. If you had already added the google IPs to let redirection of the domain. Then, first, remove all of them and then just add a single A record whose host is @ and points to 126.96.36.199 and then save it. After that, when your DNS settings get applied, your domain.com will redirect automatically to www.domain.com
Now, the thing for you is if this really works for you, then please don’ forget to comment down below whether with Blogger, Disqus, or FaceBook. You 1min time to comment down really means a lot to us.
